16 p.c. Of Prizes To Canterbury

WELLINGTON, May 30.
Canterbury, with 13 per cent, of the country's population. drew 16 per cent of the prizes in the Golden Kiwi lottery's first hundred draws, according to the organiser (Mr Neil McArthur) today. Canterbury won 14 first prizes. Auckland province has won 38 first prizes, and Wellington 20. Otago, including Dunedin, has drawn only three first prizes. The West Coast has had two On unofficial calculations. Auckland. wi'Ji 39 per cent, of the population, took 38.2 per cent of the prizes. Wellington, with 8 per cent, of the population, received 20.4 per cent of the prizes.
