Report Sent To Mr Lake <NZ Press Association) WELLINGTON. May 31 The chairman of the New Zealand Monetary and Economic Council (Professor F W Holmes) said today that a brief report on the current economic situation and outlook had been presented to the Minister of Finance (Mr Lake) It would be available for publication in about a week Professor Holmes also said that another report for the Prime Minister (Mr Holyoake) on export incentives was in the final stages and should be delivered next week

Professor Holmes will leave on June 27 for 10 months’ sabbatical leave overseas He will spend most of his time in the United States and Canada, where he will visit several universities to investigate recent developments in teaching and research in economics.

Mr L V. Castle, who has been appointed a temporary member of the Monetary and Economic Council, is senior lecturer in economics at Victoria University, Wellington.
