AIR SUPPORT FOR ARMY

Spotter Flight Formed • (N.Z Press Association) WELLINGTON. May 31 An air reconnaissance flight of three Auster aircraft has been formed in the R.N Z.A.F as part of No 42 Squadron at Ohakea, the R.N Z.A.F announced today The flight will be trained to support the Army in the roles of air observation, close reconnaissance and liaison The aircraft are at present used to provide flying training and refresher flying for Army officers and the Air .Training Corps at Wigram. The flight will be commanded by an Air Force officer and servicing of the aircraft will be carried out by Air Force tradesmen Army pilots and administrative personnel may be attached to the flight. The training of Army pilots at the Flying Training School at Wigrain will continue: blit conversion and operational training will be transferred from Wigram to Ohakea. where it will be carried out with the air reconnaissance Sight
