Kenya s national coalition is expected to be dissolved today by an Order-in-Council signed by the Queen, as a result of yesterday’s formation of a new Kenya Government which will lead the colony to self-government and then to independence Mr Jomo Kenyatta, president of the Kenya African National Union. which emerged victorious in the colony's General Election will take office tomorrow as Kenya's first Prime Minister In announcing his Cabinet list yesterday. Mr Kenyatta named Mr Tom Mboya K.A.N U's general secretary as Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs and Mr Oginga Odinga the party's vice-president. as Home Affairs Minister Tomorrow will be a national holiday to mark the beginning of Kenya's Internal self-government Die new Cabinet Ministers are due to parade through Nairobi befire being sworn tn by the Governor Kenya's new Government is to be given responsibility for defence and external and internal affairs, it has been announced The move virtually piaces the entire control of the country tn the hands of the Government.
Responsibili'y for defence and internal and external affairs normally rests with the British Government in the internal self-rule period preceding full independence.
