Cambodian Leader Fears Laos, Vietnam Will Fall

NEW YORK, May 31
Cambodia’s Chief of State, Prince Norodom Sihanouk, says he fears both his war-torn neighbours, Labs and South Vietnam, are doomed to fall to the Communists, according to the Associated Press.
"In Laos, the only real neutralist left is Prince Souvanna Phouma (the Laotian Prime Minister),” he told an A P correspondent in Kep. Cambodia, this week
"The others tn Laos all seem hopelessly divided except for the (pro-Commun-ist> Pathet Lao which lives in the same house as the Vie' Cong (the Vietnamese Communists' The Viet Cong will never let go of the Pathet Lao now" he said Prince Sihanouk had a key role in organising the Geneva conference that last vear pledged Laos's neutrality and freedom The 42-vear-old Cambodian leader was sq'ially gloomy about orospects in South Vietnam ‘Bo’h thi Viet Cong and the Americans have become too deeply engaged in South Vietnam tn withdraw easily now.” he said

But in the end America will get tired of the endless war and withdraw leaving t?r field open for the Viet Cong “Americans have put themselves in the same position as the French dur ing the Indo-China War. and they cannot win." he said Prince Sihanouk also said he was deeply concerned about the possibility of his country being ringed with Communist neighbours.
