BLACK SHIRTS FOR TESTS

The New Zealand hockey team will revert to a uniform of black shirts and socks for Its test matches against Australia. This was decided by a meeting of the management committee of the New Zealand Hockey Association last evening. For its matches in the Olympics. and in India last year, the New Zealand team wore a white uniform.

Arrangements for the Australian tour were discussed at length by the meeting. A request by the Australian Hockey Association for the team to stay in a hotel on its arrival at Auckland instead of being billetted, was approved. Mr A. D. The nominations of Messrs C. Bint (Whangarei) and R. Vercoe I Hawke’s Bay) for North Island selectors, and Mr P. Bedford (Otago) for South Island selector. were received.

A request by the Maadi Cup teams. Nelson. Marlborough and West Coast, to tour Queensland next year, was approved by the committee subject to the condition that any player from both teams chosen for the Olympic team would not be able to tour.
