Hillary Saw Hazards (N.Z.P.A.-Reuter —Copyright) _ NEW DELHI May 6. •The conqueror of Everest, Sir Edmund Hillary, bad before never seen so much fresh snow on Mount Everest, according to a report in the New Delhi newspaper. "Statesman.” The paper, In a dispatch from Khumjung, said that Sir Edfnund Hillary had grave doubts in recent weeks that the American team would be able to climb the peak in such unfavourable weather. Fresh snow on rock was a grave hazard at any altitude and on Everest it could be nothing short of disastrous. Sir Edmund Hillary said, according to a member of his current expedition to Kangtega peak. Mr Desmond Doig A British United Press report from Katmandu said Americans there were speculating that the American who reached the summit of Everest last Wednesday might have been James Lister, aged 36 An official announcement of the names of the American and the sherpa who made the final successful climb is still awaited.
