Unemployment In Britain
Sir,—The recent disturbances in England should cause our politicians the most serious misgivings for they in common with other likeminded people in other countries, mainly in the Commonwealth, who are continually barring British goods mint accept no little responsibility Shut out of Europe, Britain must have further outlets in the Commonwealth, and if they are denied, her way of dealing with the situation will certainly not be to our liking. It could even cost us our solvency. Upon the new* of the breakdown of the EE C negotiation* Mr HMyoake assured Great Britain of our sympathy and support and within a fortnight announced the intention of proceeding with our iron and steel industry, striking yet another i
blow Mt Britain’s econmoy. If that is the best we can do Mr Macmillan's prayer could well be: “Please God. preserve us from our friends."— Yours, etc., V. WILKINSON, President, Ashburton branch. Constitutional Society March 28. 1963
