Gift Instead Of Flowers

Giving a report from the Otago branch of the Save the Children Fund at the annual meeting of the Dominion council of the fund yesterday, Mrs I. M. Rutherford told of a tragic coincidence that led to a gift to the fund. “A young topdressing pilot who was interested in the Save the Children Fund, was killed recently. His will decreed that instead of

flowers, donations to the fund be sent to his funeral,” said Mrs Rutherford. “A Dunedin businessman while reading of this in the newspaper. remarked to his wife that he would like that to be done when he died. The next week he died. Another legacy of £l4O resulted.”
