CHIEF IN BRITAIN
No Nigerian Assurance (N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) LAGOS, March 29. The Federal Government chief whip, Mr Alhaji Bello Dangogo, said yesterday the Nigerian Government would not give any undertaking to Britain on Chief Anthony Enahoro. The chief faces trial if he returns to Nigeria from London on charges of plotting against the State. Members of Parliament yesterday urged the Government not to accede to Britain's request for assurances that Chief Enahoro would not face the death penalty if he were returned.
Mr Alhaji Dangogo said it was "simple logic” that if Britain continued to “harbour” Chief Enahoro it meant that it had a hand in the alleged plot. It is my opinion that he who harbours a criminal is himself a criminal.’*
