NOTICE-BOARDS ON FOOTPATHS
Complaints To Council
Notice-boards in front of shops and articles for sale obstructing footpaths have caused a number of cotnptainte to the Pkpafua Obunty Council. “One particularly bod case was brought to the attention of the owner of the shop, but. he complained he was being victimised in that other material was being allowed to remain,” said the county engineer (Mr A. Dyhrberg) at a meeting of the council. He said he was then forced to advise all ahoptaepen wring signboards of the wording of the council's by-tewa. “lit is generally accepted that advertising boards can in fact be so placed as not to cause any inconvenience to pedestrians or road users, but it is v«ry difficult to differentiate in the mnMnr wtwm tihQ abopiDMfMr he is being victimised,” he said.
The council decided to ask the executive staff to investigate the matter further, and submit another report.
