Motor Racing McLaren Equals Lap Record

(N.Z. Press Assn.— Copyright) BRISBANE, February 15. Bruce McLaren, New Zealand’s top International motor racing driver, equalled the lap record at Lakeside circuit, Brisbane, today, not long after It had been set. The English driver, John Surtees, in a Lola, set the record of 59.8 sec for the one mile and a half lap. They were among drivers taking part in the opening practice laps for the Australian gold star championship on Sunday.
