QUESTIONS IN HOUSE

I.M.F. Loan,

Glassworks

(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Feb. 13.

Two questions were set down for written answers at yesterday’s ceremonial session of Parliament.

Mr W. W. Freer (Opposition, Mount Albert) asked the Minister of Finance (MiLake): “Has any formal approach been made to the World Bank or the International Monetary Fund for a loan to be made available to the Government this year?” and “Has the Government given consideration to reorganising the Whangarei glassworks along lines similar to the Tasman Pulp and Paper Company as a combined public and State undertaking, and, if not, will this possible way of stabilising this industry receive attention?” The written answers to the questions will be available in about a week.
