PLANS FOR STIPULATE
May Race In Queen’s Cup (N.Z. Prsss Association) WELLINGTON, Jan. 20. The Auckland and New Zealand Cups winner, Stipulate, will run in the Queen’s Cup at Flemington on February 23 and weight-for-age event* if arrangements can be made to fly him to Melbourne. The trainer, C. M. Jillings, ot Takanini, said tonight; "We would dearly like him to go.” But in case arrangement* could not be made to charter a plane to carry a load of horses to Australia. Stipulate was being nominated for the Queen Elizabeth Handicap at Riccarton, which the Queen would watch.
“He will only go by plane,” Jillings said. "I will go with him. I do not know about a rider yet.’’ Mr Jillings said the trip also depended on Stipulate “going on the right way.” Stipulate had come through the Wellington Cup run in which he was beaten into second by Great Sensation, very well and might start in the mile and a half handicap at Trentham on Saturday. Jillings said there would be several suitable weight-for-age races for Stipulate about the time of the Queen’s Cup. “I do not know how he would fare in handicaps over there.” he said. Stipulate beat Even Stevens at weight-for-age and in the Auckland Cup over the Christmas holiday period and had three two-mile races this season for two firsts and a second.
