MAN LOST OVERBOARD

Investigation By Police (NZ. Press Association) AUCKLAND, Jan. 20. Auckland wharf police are making inquiries into the death at sea of a steward aboard the New Zealand freighter, Waitemata. The man, Richard Terris, aged 35. single, of Balclutha, was lost overboard on New Year's Day, when the ship was 12 days out from Los Angeles on its voyage to New Zealand. A search revealed no trace of him.

Wharf police boarded the ship after she berthed at Auckland on Saturday morning. They said today there appeared to be no suspicious circumstances.
