TOMBIGBEE LEAVES
Admiral’s Son Aboard Carrying 17 passengers for McMurdo Sound, the United States Naval supply tanker, Tombigbee, left Lyttelton early yesterday afternoon i with a fuel cargo for the i base. ; Among the passengers, who , included scientists and i servicemen, was Mr John C. ■ Reedy, the son of Rear--1 Admiral J. R. Reedy, the . United States Antarctic ! commander. ! An American mei'diant • freighter, the Pioneer Reef ; with cargo for the Antarctic I is due at Lyttelton to dis- • charge on Saturday, on a ' voyage from Davisville, ’ United States, to Australia. I The supply vessel Arneb is due at Lyttelton from McMurdo Sound on January 15. After unloading cargo at Lyttelton she will go to Wellington for docking. H.M.N.Z.S. Endeavour is due I at Lyttelton from McMurdo Sound, about January 20.
