THE FUNERAL OF THE TWO POLICEMEN WHO WERE KILLED in the shooting affray in the Waitakeres, Auckland, last Sunday, took place in Auckland yesterday. The men were Detective-Inspector W. Chalmers and Detective-Sergeant N. W. Power. This photograph shows the cortege in Khyber Pass road after a service held in St. David’s Presbyterian Church. In the left foreground are three of the pall-bearers. From left are Detective W. A. Bird (representing the Auckland Police Highland Pipe Band, of which Inspector Chalmers was pipe-major), Detective Senior-Sergeant D. J. Dwan, and Senior-Sergeant R. E.
