Lydiard Now Professional (NZ. Press Association) AUCKLAND, Dec. 12. The athletics coach, Mr A. L. Lydiard. has become a professional. This is the outcome of the publication of his book. “Run to toe Top.” The rules of toe International Amateur Athletic Federation state that no competitor may write, lecture or comment on athletics for payment without prior permission from Ms national body and then only if writing, lecturing or commenting is -Ms main career. Last season, Mr Lydiard came under attention of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association when ihe was writing articles. He continued the articles, but received no payment. “I am now going around coaching coaches, but I feel I am not being 100 per cent, -successful.” said Mr Lydiard today. “I may have to go back to coaching athletes.”
