CLUB HONOURS MR CRADDOCK

(From Our Own Reporter) WESTPORT, Oct 11. In appreciation of almost 80 years’ work tor trotting, as an rwner, trainer and driver in his young days and as secretary of the Westport Trotting Club tor 20 years. Mr W. A Craddock was appointed a life member of the club at its annua) meeting last night. He resigned as secretary last year and Mr J. W. Fair has been appointed to the position.

Referring to the last year’s activities, the' president, Mr W. F. Roche, ’said that the club had done well to finish with a profit of £144. He said that the Totalisator Agency Board had had a record turnover last year, but there' had been greatly increased administrative costs, including higher wage*, which would cause a slight reduction tn the allocation to clubs, so small, however, that it would hardly be noticeable. He said that the TJLB gave smaller club*, especially, a greater feeling of security and felt that quite a few would not be able to carry on witbout the allocations every year. Mr Roche was re-elected unopposed as president tor his eleventh term. Other officers elected were: Patron, Mr H. Lovell: vicepresidents. Messrs C. F. Schadick. Roy Powell: committee. Messrs 3.
