Leader rode waterfall to victory in today's Newmarket Town Plate—the only flat race on the English turf open to women riders. The race was Instituted in the reign of King Charles U. “to be on the second Thursday in October for ever.” Miss Leader won it two years ago. and was second last year. , She brought Waterfall, the even money favourite, home four lengths ahead of Rasgil, ridden by Miss Jennifer Stephenson, in a field of 13.
