PROHIBITED IMMIGRANTS

African Reefer Mess Boys (N.Z. Press'Association) WELLINGTON. Sept. 25. Two Danish mess boys on the vessel African Reefer, lens Hogh Hansen, aged 17, and Jorgen Brejnrcd, aged 22, admitted in the Magistrate’s Court today that being prohibited immigrants they unlawfully landed in New Zealand on September 4. The prosecutor, Mr W. R. Birks, said both defendants were mess boys on the African Reefer which arrived in New Zealand on August 20. They were not on board when the vessel sailed from Lyttelton on September 4. They were arrested ait Wanganui. Through an interpreter, the defendants said they would like to join their ship again. Mr M. B. Scully. S.M.. said they would be convicted and held in custody subject to the provisions of the Immigration Act. Each was ordered to pay 30s casts. £3 3s solicitor’s fee, and £ 1 15s interpreter's fee.
