THEFTS BY DRIVERS
Three Given Probation (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, Aug. 28. Three truck drivers were admitted to periods of probation when they appeared for sentence before Mr W S. Spence. S.M., in the Magistrate's Court on charges of theft today.
lan Mervyn Harvey, aged 23. was admitted to two years' probation on a charge of theft by failing to account to his employers. Grey and Menzies. Ltd He was ordered to pay the cost of the prosecution (£2O) and restitution of £6O. William Rennie, aged 20. was admitted to two years' probation on a charge of theft as a servant from Grey and Menzies. Ltd He was ordered to pay £2O prosecution costs, and £BO restitution. Jack Meredith Lelean, aged 41, was admitted to three years' probation on a charge of theft as a servant from Grey and Menzies. Ltd., and ordered to pay £ 154 restitution.
