Sir,—(l) What can be done to stop television ghosting? We have an inside aerial. Will an outside aerial stop ghosting? (2) Will there be any “live” telecasts of horseracing when the special van arrives next year? (3) Who will be the radio commentator for the Rugby tests against Australia? Yours, etc., INQUIRER. August 20. 1962. [The district manager of the New Zealand Broadcasting Corporation (Mr J. F. Skedden) said: “(1) Without knowing where yoiu live, it is difficult to say how ghosting may be lessened. It depends upon your closeness to the hills, high buildings, and trees, but a<n outside aerial correctly positioned would improve reception. (2) Preliminary discussions have already been held with the New Zealand Racing and Trotting Conferences, but no decision has yet been reached regarding live telecasting of racing. (3) Messrs I. W. Gallaway and R. Irvine will share the commentary on the test at Wellington Mr Gallaway will give the commentary at Dunedin, Mr Irvine at Auckland.”]
