Counterfeiter Fined £30

(N.Z. Press Association} WELLINGTON, Aug. 22.

Willem Frederick Van Putten, aged 21, a cameraman, was fined £3O by Mr M. B. Scully, S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court at Wellington today when he appeared for sentence on a charge of counterfeiting Reserve Bank of New Zealand £5 notes.

The Magistrate said Van Putten was fully aware of what he was doing and that in the dim light of a coffee bafr he would deceive people with the £5 notes.
