TOUR TOO LONG’ SAY PLAYERS
(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) SYDNEY, August 14. Seventeen British Rugby League players arrived in Sydney by air from New Zealand today complaining of tiredness. The players said they had too much travelling and too many matches during the New . Zealand segment of their tour. They played nine games in three weeks. The team will remain in Sydney until Saturday, wiien it will fly on to South Africa. Injured Team Withdraws Because of injuries, Marist. Wellington's representative in tlie Rothman’s £lOOO Rugby League competition, has withdrawn from the Southern section’ of the tournament to be played in Christchurch this week-end. Marist has been replaced by Miramar, which leads the Wellington senior competition. •Marist fell to second place in the table last Saturday after it had been surprisingly beaten by Petone, 31-9.
