Ice Hockey RANGERS BEAT HAWKS
Rangers, leaders In the As)iby Bergh rose bowl competition, won by one goal in an ice hockey match against Hawks played at the indoor tee rink on Monday evening. Hawks kept the Rangers forwards bottled up for most of the first spell, and neither side scored until Hawks netted from a goalmouth melee a minute from the end
Rangers combined better In the second spa) and they brought off some fine passing plays. Theli shooting was poor and they netted only three times
Hawks combination was not as good, but their shooting was better and they scored twice. Play speeded up in the final spell and both sides made some good moves and scored one goal each with perfectly placed passes. Rangers also scored from a fine solo run by the centre to give them the winning goal. Scorers were: Hawks, B, Offord 2 I. Paul. A. Hamilton. Rangers. G Hitchcock 4. B. Adamson. Hie referees were Messrs J. Le Quesne and B. Lester.
