Hawks kept the Rangers forwards bottled up for most of the first spell, and neither side scored until Hawks netted from a goalmouth melee a minute from the end

Hawks combination was not as good, but their shooting was better and they scored twice. Play speeded up in the final spell and both sides made some good moves and scored one goal each with perfectly placed passes. Rangers also scored from a fine solo run by the centre to give them the winning goal. Scorers were: Hawks, B, Offord 2 I. Paul. A. Hamilton. Rangers. G Hitchcock 4. B. Adamson. Hie referees were Messrs J. Le Quesne and B. Lester.
