The convention of the middle floor at the Coronation Hospital for the use of geriatric patients had been carried out very well indeed, said Miss B. Webb at a meeting of the North Canterbury Hospital Board yesterday. The floor was beautifully warm, and the patients were very comfortable. Kalkonra Plans. Plans prepared by the board’s architect for the reconstruction cf the Katkoura Hosoital were criticised by Mr V. T. Corbett. “The architect doesn't seem to have got the feeling of the situation at all,” he said. A meeting would be held at which the doctors and nurses attached to the hospital could examine the plans, he said. The chairman (Professor A. J. Danks) assured Mr Corbett that ample opportunity would be given for representations to be made. Walking Tunnel.—A sketch plan for a proposed walking and machinery tunnel between Christchurch Hospital and the manse site had been prepared by the board’s architect, it was reported. The architect was asked to prepare details of costs. Hospital History.— Dr. F. O. Bennett's history of the Christchurch Hospital will be nublished by the board on November I, in conjunction with the hospital centennial celebrations. Psychiatric Beds. Beds have been allocated to the board's psychiatric unit in ward Bl in the Princess Margaret Hospital. Surgery Change. For a ’rial period of six months, all the board’s genitourinary surgery will be carried out in the ward 11 theatre at the Christchurch Hospital. The operating table formerly used in the Coronation Hospital has been transferred to ward 11.
