WAITING-LIST SYSTEM
Sub-Committee To Investigate
A sub-committee to look into the system of operating the North Canterbury Hospital Board’s waiting list was appointed at a meeting of the board yesterday. The move was suggested by Mr T. Smith, who said he felt the system could be improved. He thought for example, that reply-paid cards ought to be attached to instructions sent out to waitinglist patients when they were called in for surgery. The committee should inquire. he said, whether the system was adequate and up-to-date. and whether there was sufficient team-work. It should also make suggestions for improvement as it thought warranted. Mr Smith’s resolution was adopted, and a sub-committee appointed consisting of the board's secretary, the medical superintendent-in-chief, and the medical records clerk.
