Four foot - weary antibomb demonstrators who had tramped hundreds of miles to a peace rally in Washington were arrested outside the White House.

Police told them they could not -carry their placards down the street next to the White House. When they sat down on the pavement, they were arrested.

The four were among ‘‘Walks for Peace” groups who had hiked from Nashville (Tennessee), Hanover (New Hampshire) and Chicago (Illinois), to begin four days of demonstrations against war preparations and nuclear tests, United Press International reported.
