Smoke

Sir, —As a victim of the factory on the first block on Riccarton road that has applied to be zoned heavy industrial, I endorse everything that “Thin End of the Wedge” says. I was driven from my delightful flat in lovely surroundings on Deans avenue, just round the corfrom this factory, by the

vibration of heavy machinery and incessant smoke. This was while this area was zoned residential; so what will the situtaion be if this area is zoned heavy industrial? It is not going to affect just the surrounding bouses but, as it grows bigger, as it will, Hagley Park wifi be in the centre of a factory area.—Yours, etc.. AWAKE CHRISTCHURCH. J>ine. 19. 1962.
