Third round matches in the business firms’ night tennis competition played at the South Christchurch courts resulted:—

Public Trust Office v. Buntings.—Wall and Caskell lost to Bates and Smart. 8-4: Mather and Wall lost to Pope and Bates. 7-3; Caskell and Mather lost to Smart and Pope. 6-3. Buntings won, 3-0.

Lane. Walker. Rudkin v. Marathon.—Edgar and Strez beat Taylor and Goddard. 8-7; Strez and Purvis beat Goddard. 8-4: Edgar and Purvis beat Butler. 9-3. Lane, Walker, Rudkin won. 3-0

Foodstuffs v. Winstone. Blackburne. Smith.—Snook and Whalley lost to Garrod and Wilson, 3-9: Simpson and Whalley drew with Wilson and Smith. 5-5; Snook and Simpson beat Garrod and Smith. 9-0.
