Boxing 4400 Saw Stewart Beat Scanlan
(N Z Press Association) WELLINGTON. February J 4 The attendance at the C Stewart-T Scanlan fight last Monday was officially given by the secretary of the Wellington Boxing Association, Mr J S Lawrey, today as 4400. The total purse was between £l2OO and £l5OO, of which Stewart will receive 60 per cent. Scan-lari received £4OO.
Jofre-Caldwell Fight Date (N.Z J*.A.-Reuter—Copyright) LONDON. February 14. The London boxing promotor, Jack Solomons has named April 10 as the date for the return world bantamweight championship fight between Eder Jofre (Brazil) the holder, and John Caldwell (Northern Ireland) The fight will be held at the Empire Pool, Wembley.
