DENTAL HEALTH ON TV

Experiments In Quebec

[By a Reuter Correspondent) QUEBEC.

It may be possible to check the effectiveness of education by television by examining the teeth of re-si dents in the province of Quebec. Canada’s largest province. Provincial authorities have been using television since 1958 to educate their people in dental health.

Most television stations in the province have been generous in allotting time for educational programmes on dentistry. One private station has a panel of three specialists in denffigtry who answer questions submitted by view-ers. The programme is not sponsored and the specialists are not paid. It is part of the time reserved for educational and cukural telecasts.

With more then 84 per cent, of all Canadian families owning a television set. there should be an improvement

of teeth in Q uebec.
