FIRM MARKET FOR WOOL AT NAPIER
(Ntte Zealand Press Association)
NAPIER, January 22. A very firm market ruled for the third wool sale today of the 1901-62 season, according to the official report The 25,898 bales offered consisted mainly of ewe wool with a small proportion of hogget. These x>ols were not generally up to the usual standard of the Hawke’s Bay January offering due to the adverse weather conditions experienced during the lategrowing period. All fleece wool was very flrm with specialty wool at premium rates. Lambs sold i firm on recent sales with well-prepared lots command{ing a premium. Second shear was very firm, and all oddments met with a keen demand at firm rates. Principal competition came from the Continent with good general demand. The United 'States and Japan were operating sparingly, with Bradford rather quiet. The sale will continue on Wednesday morning when the remainder of the catalogues, totalling 24,339 bales, will be offered. Xante of Prices
