Hastings Firm's Plans

"The Press" Special Service AUCKLAND, Jan. 22.

The Government is considering plans of a Hastings firm, Morrison Industries. Ltd., lawnmower manufacturers, to make bicycles in Hastings It is believed to be one of the projects the Government is re-examining in the light of the cotton mill decision.

The firm's general manager (Mr J Goodwin) confirmed that his company had been negotiating with the Government.

“We are planning several other industries,” said Mr Goodwin, “but I am not able to say any more at this stage.”
