Exchange Of Experts

Sir.—lt is reported that Lincoln College is importing a Hindu to teach our young farmers how to farm. Surely with Massey and Lincoln Colleges we should have trained our own men equally well for this position. It is stated that a batch of about five scientists are taking positions in the United States. Two other industrial scientists are at present going to Australia. The taxpayer is paying heavily to educate these boys for positions that do not exist here. Would it not be advisable to have our trainees and university expenditure, and let other countries educate their own?—Yours, etc., ROBBIE January 17, 1962.
