TEST DRAW LIKELY

England Versus India (N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) NEW DELHI. Dec. 16. I%e third test match between England and India seems certain to end in a draw. With only two days remaining, England at stumps today had reached 3 for 256 in reply to India's first innings of 466, and the pitch showed no sign of breaking: up. K. F. Barrington shared a record second-wicket stand of 164 with G. Pullar (89) in four hours to take the edge from the Indian attack. Barrington’s knock of 113 was his fourth century in successive test matches. After M. J. K. Smith had failed again —he stayed 40 minutes for two runs Barrington and E. R Dexter added 70 in 83 minutes. Barrington, who at 39 passed 2000 runs in test cricket, batted in unspectacular fashion, but without him the side could have been in trouble.
