BRABIN TOURNEY TEAM
Win Over North , Canterbury Canterbury's representatives in the Brabin tournament next month showed brisk batting to beat the North Canterbury representative side at Woodend yesterday. After North Canterbury had declared at 200 for six wickets, the Brabin tournament team. In 150 mm, scored 248 runs for the loss of seven wickets. For North Canterbury G. Coull batted slowly at the start, scoring only 19 before lunch. Later he scored more freely, and ended with 60. The spinners, M. Ryan and M. Lester, were the most effective of the bowlers. G. Beer batted solidly for the Brabin tournament side, and be was well supported by aggressive innings by L. Smith, P. Coman. and J. Baird. Scores:— NORTH CANTERBURY First Innings G.
