TRIBUTE TO WORK

“Lifelong Aid To Mr Nash” (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Dec. 17. The heart of the Labour movement would go out to Mr Nash in the time of his sad bereavement, the president of the Labour Party, Dr. A. M. Finlay, said yesterday. In a tribute to Mrs Nash, he said: “While never in the forefront of active politics. Mrs Nash possessed a deep and keen human understanding and was a lifelong guide and support to her husband in the humanitarian work for which he is so noted.” The Prime Minister, Mr Holyoake, personally expressed his sympathy to Mr Nash. In a tribute to Mrs Nash. Mr Holyoake said: “The passing of Mrs Nash will be widely regretted and I know that very many people to whom she was known and so highly respected will feel a sense of personal loss and deepest sympathy for Mr Nash and his family at this time “In her kindly, unobtrusive manner, Mrs Nash was a wonderful help and support to Mr Nash from the earliest days of his long years in public life. She was always genuinely interested in others and was a diligent worker for many causes. She will be widely remembered as a charming woman and a devoted wife and mother.”
