TIED MATCH AT MALVERN

Kirwee United and South Malvern A fought out on Saturday the first tied game for many years in Malvern cricket matches. Both teams made 127. South Malvern was perhaps fortunate. for a dropped catch enabled it to score the solitary run for the tie. the last wicket falling before any addition had been made to the score. Bowlers dominated this match and some fine figures were recorded. G. Nimmo, who has been bowling particularly well for South Malvern this season, took six for 51, and R. Morris five for 22 and D. Stone five for 57 for Kirwee Vnited. R. Tilson was top scorer of the match, with 57. This was his third consecutive score of note. Sheffield, tn the game against Greendale, declared with eight wickets down for 186. L. Innes made a splendid 84. and was well supported by A. Wright with 35. When Greendale lost three quick wickets, however, the shutters were put up, and a draw was inevitable. J. Adams batted 115 minutes for his 34 runs. Darfield had no trouble In beating South Malvern B, and after making 222 reasonably quickly, had South Malvern all out for 141. R. Gunne, in taking four for 37, was the best of the Darfield bowlers. Morris five for 22, D. Stone five for 57). Sheffield 186 for eight declared (N. Wright 20, I*. Innes 84, A. Wright 35, D. Jenkins 19; J. Adams four for 64) drew with Greendale, 106 for seven (B. Ridgen 22, J. Adams 34 not out; A. Wright three for 20, D. Deans three for 25). Darfield 222 (D. McLeod 44, M. Frew 42. D. Reid 37, B. Johnson 24; M. Milne six for 74, A. Karst three for 65) beat South Malvern B 141 (A. Karst 42 not out, L. Clucas 20; R. Gunne four for 37, C. Millen two for 33).
