In a visit to Oxford on Thursday, the mobile unit of the North Canterbury Blood Transfusion Service collected 180 pints of blood—a record for a one-day visit anywhere by the service.

The unit ha* now received 2582 pints of blood from Oxford in 19 visit*. The secretary of the service (Mr T. W Smith) said this “very satisfactory response” wu largely attributable to the good work of the uitit’s lialtoWn - Dr - Fourteen new donors were enrolled at the latest visit. When the unit last went to the town, in July this year, 175 pints were received. On November 30 the unit will go to the Industrial Health Centre at Wooleton. and on December 14 it will visit Akaroa.
