Tai Tapu Fire Protection
The Haiswell County Council will consider supplying water for fires within the county, members of the Council will tell the Tai Tapu fire protection committee. A letter from the committee was read at a meeting of the council. The letter said that another total loss had been suffered by the district in a fire on Wednesday. It was the third season, the letter said, since residents of the district began agitation for local fire protection but had only so far received vajgue promises. Messrs J. G. Macartney and McKay will • meet the committee to discuss the latest Are and measures that could -be taken.
