League AUSTRALIAN TOUR

N.Z. May Go In Place Of I K.

(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. Nov. 14. A New Zealand Rugby League team may tour Australia next year instead of Britain. This move comes after a disagreement between Australia and Britain over the financial arrangements concerning the British visit to Australia. Mr J. E. Knowling. secretary of the New Zealand League, said Mr H. E. Matthews. secretary of the Australian League, had telephoned today asking whether New Zealand would accept an Australian tour next season. The emergency committee of the New Zealand council had agreed on the condition that if Britain accepted the terms laid down by Australia and decide to continue with the original tour of Australia and New Zealand, then New Zealand would forgo the trip. Australia has asked New Zealand to make an 18-match 'even-week tour, starting in May and finishing in July. The New Zealand team would p’av three tests, two of them in Sydney. The tentative tour would consist of four matches in Sydney, the two tests, a match against a metropolitan side and against New South Wales. Three matches would be played at Brisbane including a test, a game against a metropolitan side and a state side.
