BIG DOUBLE AT TE RAPA
Seven Tickets On Winner "The Press” Special Service AUCKLAND. Nov. 12. The holders of seven winning tickets (5s unit! shared a payout of £4170 5s on the on-course double. No Boy and Sea Heroine, at Te Rapa yesterday. There were 1881 tickets taken on No Boy in the first leg. the Fencourt Highweight. but only seven were exchanged for Sea Heroine, a real outsider, in the Trelawney Handicap. On the win-and-place machine. Sea Heroine carried £132 (win £42 10s, place £9O 10s) in a pool of £12.517 and her dividends were £ll9 18s 6d and £l9 6s 6d. A three-year-old filly, she had not won before but. on this occasion, she led all the way. Wi-h win-and-<place betters. Sea Heroine was the fourteenth and thirteenth favourite. A bay. by Able Seaman from Heroic Moth, she was secured cheaply at an auction of yearlings by Mr W. Sanders, an owner-trainer, of Te Awamutu. who is seldom without a smart horse or two. As well as being successful with Sea Heroine. Mr Sanders won the second division of the Spring Juvenile with Pharmacy, a colt which also carries his brown, red and green jacket. The Te Awamutu apprentice. J. Hayes, rod Sea Heroine and N. B. Holland was on Pharmacy.
