Television Advertising
Sir, —As the owner of a television set I would like to protest at the way the advertisements are put on right in the middle of a feature. Just at a very tense moment in the story, across the screen sails a sweet little girl demonstrating how good a certain brand of frozen peas is. All very well in its right place. We all realised that we would have to put up with advertisements but did think the powers that be would use a bit of gumption as to where they placed them on the programme. Sincerely hoping for a change for the better, —Yours, etc, IRATE VIEWER. October 12, 1961.
