BRISBANE. September 29. Warnings of widespread retrenchments at Mount Isa mines were given by a company representative at yesterday** abortive compulsory conference on the dispute. The conference, before the Industrial Commissioner (Mr K.J. Harvey) was adjourned to Mount Isa next Munday, and the mitre will remain closed until the dispute is settled. Mount Isa mines closed on Monday after a four-hour stoppage of work by craft

union members. The stoppage is a protest against the standing down of men for 48 hours at the j week-end.' ! The company claimed ithe stand down was ordered J because the copper smelter 'and mills bad not produced J enough ore after a ban on
