Boy Becomes Millionaire

(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) LONDON, Sept. 20. A nine-year-old schoolboy, Richard Baird, went off to the dentist yesterday unaware a Belfast High Court decision had just made him a millionaire. The Court approved the sale of 58,656 shares, left in trust by his father, for almost £1,300,000, the "Daily Mail’’ reported. The shares were in the “Belfast Telegraph,” the only evening newspaper in Northern Ireland. Ah application in Richard’s name was made to the Court to sell the shares to Canadian newspaper magnate, Mr Roy Thompson. The sale gives Mr Thompson control of the “Belfast Telegraph,” the “Daily Mail” said.
