Christchurch Sittings

WELLINGTON. Sept. 21. The Royal Commission on State Services announced today that it will hold public sittings at Auckland and Christchurch early in the new year.

The chairman (Mr Justice McCarthy) said the commission would be at Auckland from January 22 to 26 inclusive and at Christchurch from January 29 to February 2 inclusive How much of this time would be devoted to public hearings would depend on the number of submissions offering, he said.

At these hearings the commission will be prepared to hear papers on parts of its terms of reference.
