MINOR FIRES

Boiling tar overflowed and ignited grass and rubbish at the rear of a bouse at 9 Woodbridge road, Cashmere, about 1225 p.ra. yesterday. The fire was extinguished by units from the Central and Sydenham fire stations. The property is owned by Mr Arnold Sharp.

A small fire which broke out about 3.25 pm. yesterday in a gorse fence on a property in Tuckers road was extinguished by a unit from the Central station. The unit was then sent to an oven fire at 50 Grampian street, and a unit from the Cranford street station also attended. The oven fire occurred in a house occupied by Mr Cecil Murray Humphries.
