Approval For Otago University (N.Z. Press Association) DUNEDIN. Sept. 19 A department of surveying. under the direction of Associate Professor J. B. Mackie, has been approved for the University of Otago It had been estimated that, when the course had been running for a few years, there would be an attendance of at least 25 in, each of the two professional yea-s. Mr Mackie said today. “On present figures this; will about double the num-! ber of students in the faculty of technology,” he added. Although it had been hoped to begin teaching the professional years of the course in 1962. this would not now be possible until the. beginning of 1963. but the} intermediate year of the new course, which might be' taken at any university, would begin in 1962.
